چکیده
Abstract Smoking is a severe health problem. has been shown to increase the risk of systemic inflammation. Neutophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) used as marker inflammation and monitors prognosis, morbidity, mortality in many diseases. This study aimed analyze NLR smokers. an observational analytic conducted at Tadulako University, Palu. A total 48 subjects consisted 24 active smokers non-smokers. Subjects were given questionnaire containing history disease, smoking status, number cigarettes consumed per day. Blood samples also taken for hematological examination. was then compared with appropriate statistical test. The smoker’s group 1.54 ± 0.81 non-smoker’s 1.87 1.76. not significantly different between non-smokers, p-value 0.578. Most are light moderate smokers, it possible that this condition able cause significant

Background and Objective Increased neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a marker as well as predictor of various cardiac and non cardiac disorders. Our aim was to assess the relationship between NLR and different level of glycemic control in type 2 diabetic patients. Methods An observational study was conducted at diabetic clinic of Sheikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan from S...
متن کاملPrognostic Value of the Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) in Lung Cancer Cases
Haemogram assessment is a cheap and easy method which can be readily performed for almost all patients. Leucocyte, neutrophil and lymphocyte counts and the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are markers of systemic inflammation. We here aimed to evaluate haemogram parameters of our patients with lung cancer according to the pathologic diagnosis of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small c...
متن کاملPretreatment Neutrophil–Lymphocyte Ratio
The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has been shown to be associated with prognosis in various types of cancer. We evaluated pretreatment NLR as a predictor of poor prognosis in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and we compared the prognostic value of NLR with other prognostic scores. We retrospectively analyzed 825 patients diagnosed with HCC between October 2008 and May 2012. ...
متن کاملThe neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) predicts adrenocortical carcinoma and is correlated with the prognosis
BACKGROUND The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is reported as a biomarker for some solid malignant diseases. Thus far, however, no reports of the relationship between the NLR and adrenal tumors have been published. We analyzed the utility of the preoperative NLR as a biomarker for predicting the prognosis or diagnosis of malignant disease. METHODS A total of 59 patients with adrenal tumo...

The pretreatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is reportedly associated with the clinical outcomes of many cancers. However, it has not been widely investigated whether the pretreatment NLR is associated with the pathological characteristics of prostate cancer (PCa) and biochemical recurrence in PCa patients receiving radical prostatectomy (RP).In this cohort study, a total of 1688 PCa p...
